Fusion of Victorian Gothic and Modern Horror

The Duskbloods art design team built upon the architectural styles of the 19th century Victorian era, infusing them with modern horror elements to create a unique visual experience. The game's buildings incorporate gothic features such as spires, arches, and gargoyles, while modern lighting effects and atmospheric design enhance the horror ambiance.

The city design employs a cascading structure, with towering cathedrals and castles standing on steep streets. This vertical design not only creates a visually spectacular effect but also provides multi-layered environments for exploration and combat.

Blood Visual Effects and Color Philosophy

As a core element of the game, blood receives special visual treatment. The design team developed a sophisticated fluid animation system that renders blood with surreal flow and splash effects in the game. Different types of blood have distinct visual characteristics:

  • Dark Blood: Dark red with black particles, rapidly evaporates in air
  • Pure Blood: Bright red with slight luminescent effects, forms lasting traces
  • First Blood: Deep red with purple aura, floats in the air and forms complex patterns

The overall color scheme of the game is dominated by dark tones, primarily using deep purple, crimson red, and pitch black. This color combination not only reinforces the gothic horror atmosphere but also allows key elements (such as blood and magical effects) to visually stand out.
